Things to Do in Pigeon Forge on a Rainy Day
Rain is common in the Smokies (it is a temperate rainforest, after all), but Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have plenty of indoor fun. Here are some well-known options for a wet afternoon.
- Titanic Museum Attraction: A half-scale replica of the famous ship with artifacts and stories of its passengers and crew.
- WonderWorks: An upside-down building packed with hands-on science exhibits, great for kids.
- Hollywood Wax Museum: Wax figures of movie stars and celebrities, with other attractions in the same complex.
- Alcatraz East Crime Museum: Exhibits on crime history, law enforcement and forensic science.
- Dinner shows: Pigeon Forge is known for indoor dinner-and-show theaters, including Dolly Parton's Stampede.
- The Old Mill: A historic working gristmill with shops, a general store, a pottery shop and restaurants.
- The Island in Pigeon Forge: Shops, restaurants and the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Many shops are easy to duck into between showers.
- Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies: In downtown Gatlinburg, a short walk from our Baskins Creek townhouses, with a shark tunnel and penguins.
- Tanger Outlets Sevierville: Outlet shopping a short drive north of Pigeon Forge.
Hours and tickets vary by season, so check each attraction's website before you go.
Or just stay in
Sometimes the best rainy day is a cozy one. At River Song Condo you can watch the river from the balcony and light the gas-log fireplace, and both of our Gatlinburg townhouses have fireplaces or hot tubs and big TVs for movie night.
